A Message from Mr. Hamm
Dear Cole Families,
I’ve received a number of questions this week and I’d like to clarify an important element to support you in making the best decision for your child(ren) before Friday’s deadline.
Hybrid or Clovis Connect?  November 3rd of January 19th?
You must identify which learning environment is best for your child as we transition into CUSD’s offer of in-person learning.  Families will choose Hybrid (in-person learning) or Clovis Connect (daily Zoom from home).  Once you have selected this very important option, you are asked to provide your preference as a form of input for the start date of the newly built Hybrid and Clovis Connect classes.  You may recommend November 3rd or January 19th as your input to the district for the upcoming start date.  Once the start date has been determined after evaluating all parent’s input by the district, all Hybrid and Clovis Connect classes will begin on either November 3rd of January 19th.  It’s important to note that the start date you suggested in your survey may not be what is decided as the global start date across the district.
If this email has sparked interest in how you would like to update your survey that has already been submitted, please know that you are welcome to make updates to your survey on or before Friday at 5:00 p.m.  If you have yet to complete your survey, it is very important that you do so before Friday at 5:00 p.m.
Thank you,
Mr. Hamm
ELEMENTARY RE-OPENING FORUM

Superintendent Eimear O’Farrell and Fresno County Department of Public Health officials will discuss Clovis Unified’s elementary school waiver application and reopening plan during an Elementary Parent Forum at noon Monday, Oct. 12 online.

Clovis Unified families will receive an email Oct. 9 containing updated information regarding learning options and reopening plans for elementary and secondary level students.

Clovis Unified has applied for an elementary school waiver to allow students on campus, following required health and safety protocols in a hybrid (part on-site, part at-home) model. Full online will also continue to be offered.

Parents and guardians of elementary school children will be asked to review information and complete a survey selecting the learning option for their child by Oct. 16.

Secondary school waivers are not yet allowed for intermediate and high schools, and information will be in emails to secondary student families about possible timelines and requirements for that to change.

Questions for the upcoming Elementary Parent Forum may be submitted in advance at https://tinyurl.com/ElementaryForum101220
