Our History

Cole Elementary opened it's doors for the 1958-59 school year. The original campus had an office, seven classrooms, a kindergarten, and a multipurpose room. Red and Blue were chosen as the school colors and a red bulldog for it's mascot. These choices were in honor of Fresno State College that previously owned the land that Cole was built on.

Cole was named after Clovis Marshall Cole who was a very successful wheat farmer and land investor, having farmed 50,000 acres in the valley and was famous as the "Wheat King of the United States" in the late 1800's. The city of Clovis was also named after him.
